At Coskewis, our monthly Drum Circles are moments of reconnection with the heartbeat of the Earth. When we come together in rhythm, hands on drums, hearts open, something ancient stirs. It’s as if the land itself begins to breathe with us again.
An ancient language of connection
Long before language took shape, there was rhythm. The drum, perhaps humanity’s first instrument, spoke across the fires of early communities, echoing through valleys, caves, and sacred clearings. Across continents and eras, drumming was how people spoke with the unseen: with spirit, with the ancestors, with the land itself.
Our ancestors would have known this deeply. Imagine the Neolithic peoples, gathered within the great stone circles. Around fires and beneath stars, they would have drummed and chanted, the sound reverberating off the standing stones and through the soil.
The stones, precisely placed where the Earth’s energy lines converge, amplified that vibration. These crossing points, places where the energetic currents of the Earth meet and spiral together have long been recognised as potent sites of transformation, balance, and renewal. When sound is made there, it travels not just through air, but deep into the web of the world.
This is why drumming on the land like Coskewis is so potent, it directly supports our Earth rebalancing mission. By joining a circle, you’re not only restoring balance within yourself, but also contributing to the healing of the planet.
Drumming for Earth balance
Modern science now affirms what those Neolithic drummers already sensed: rhythm heals. It steadies the heart, synchronises our brainwaves, and opens pathways of emotion and presence. But the healing moves beyond the human body.
Every beat of the drum creates a resonation through the ground, awakening subtle energies in the land itself. When drumming takes place on or near these energy crossings, the effect is magnified, like dropping a stone into the confluence of two rivers. The rhythm flows along the energetic lines, revitalising and harmonising the landscape.
This is why drumming on the land of Coskewis is so very potent. Our gatherings take place on ground alive with these lines, places where the Earth’s energy flows strongly. Each circle supports our Earth rebalancing mission: by coming to drum, you are not only regulating your own nervous system, but actively participating in the healing of the planet. Each heartbeat, contributes to restoring harmony within the greater web of life.

Following the energy lines, finding the crossings
Across the land, unseen but deeply felt, run the energy lines, the meridians of the Earth. Where these lines intersect, the energy intensifies, creating nodal points of extraordinary potency.
When we drum upon an energy crossing like this, the rhythm becomes transmission. It opens dialogue between human and land, between ancient and present time. Each vibration joins the ongoing song of the Earth, contributing to its renewal and balance.
In this way, every drum circle at Coskewis is a continuation of a lineage thousands of years old, an echo of those who once drummed within the stones to awaken the land’s dreaming. Many have seen spirits move upon this land; women, men, and children dancing, singing, and drumming in joyful celebration of life itself… let’s recreate it!
Join the circle
Each month, we gather at Coskewis amongst the stones to drum under the open sky, or in the Tipi with a fire to celebrate, to release, to remember. You don’t need any experience, only your heartbeat and your willingness to listen.
Bring your drum, your rattle, or simply your voice. Together, we create rhythm that travels through time and land alike, connecting us to the ancients, to the Earth, and to each other.
Let’s drum for the Earth, the ancestors, the future! Join us for our next Drum Circle (Sunday 14th December, 10am)
